Young Adult Fantasy Book Series

The ever-evolving process of writing a novel series is worth the hard work. Many steps are being taken to not only tell the story in its best light, but to build something bigger with it.

Bridge Heart Draft 11

After four years of development, Bridge Heart has undergone it’s first editorial assessment, courtesy of Laura Silverman, an editor from New York. Since I received the valuable feed back in October of 2024, I have launched into two drafts, one of which I am currently writing by hand. My main vice as a writer is rushing. My plot points have always been solid but the book lacked down time for the reader to absorb it, to savor it before the next big twist blindsided them. I am challenging myself to shape every word with a pen, so that my mind will slow down enough to describe every detail with purpose. It is hard work, but it is proving to be quite rewarding. I have mentioned this before on my social media, but I am still astounded at how much more I’m getting to know my characters, many of which I have been writing about for twenty years (I can’t believe I’m that old). I am confident that what is forming on the page is the real backbone of this book series. It took 11 drafts to correct some major plot wholes and missed opportunities, and that’s not where I’ll stop I’m sure. At the end of the day I don’t care how many times I have to rewrite: I’m going to hand you the real Bridge Heart experience in the highest quality I can possibly achieve. The wait will be worth it.

My Plan

Bridge Heart isn’t just a book series. The premise is too big to be only that. So, I am setting up plans to build a franchise from the ground up. As a multidisciplinary artist, I am ready to lead the way into creating comics, film projects, video games, and more. I have full confidence that what I’m creating is wanted and needed in this world. I will strive to make it available to my global target audience. I’ve had this calling since I was very young and I have learned that the greatest defense against broken dreams is persistence. I have no plan B because plan A is worth my full effort. It will be challenging and it may not turn out in the way I expect, but ‘turn out’ it shall. I will not get in my own way and face seemingly insurmountable obstacles with optimism, for I will learn from my mistakes and gain strength always. Thank you for stopping by. I will keep you posted on my progress.
