I finally took a breath between drafts 11 and 12. My fantasy book, Bridge Heart (formerly named Bridge World) has found new inspiration in the quiet moments of daily living. If I am going to hook you with this story, it’s going to be with relatability and the little things that make characters so human. And while I’m at it, I’m flooding every paragraph with detailed descriptions. Being primarily an actor, my writing has focused too much on dialogue, like a script; a bad habit that I’m kicking to the curb. A fantasy book is only satisfying with rich exposition!

So I am challenging myself to do better. I may have dyslexia, but that gives me an edge as a writer since it turns my descriptions tactile, and character emotions into vivid gestures or visuals. I have something different to put on the page. And I’m taking my time to make sure I’ve got the best version of the story before I put it into your hands. My editorial assessment was the best thing to happen to me. Almost a full year has passed and already Bridge Heart has tightened up itself with juicy backstory and more meaningful character bonds. As they say: the story becomes in the rewriting of it.
Don’t go anywhere. Maltzar and Tyler’s story will hit the shelves sooner than you think.
